Russians will be heading to the polls for parliamentary elections this weekend, and perhaps unsurprisingly Vladimir Putin’s United Russia party is leading as the war in Ukraine continues.

So is there still a political pulse in a nation where Putin rules supreme and parties that oppose the war are banned?

Voters will go to the polls over three days to elect a new State Duma in the first parliamentary elections since Russia's full scale invasion of Ukraine.

The only anti-war party has been banned, while candidates deemed to have "undesirable" opinions have been disqualified or jailed.

This is a rare journey through Moscow, where we discover what campaigning looks like in an election where everyone already knows who the winner will be.
