Rain overnight in Upington caused flooding and more rain around Kimberley and Kathu. We make a stop at the NAMPO in Bredasdorp. Elephants look like they are walking on water along the H7 near Satara Rest Camp in the Kruger National Park, and we will show you more from across South Africa Today.
South Africa Weather for Today & Tomorrow Update
A cold front sweeping across the southern regions will bring a cold, wet, and windy day to both the Western and Eastern Cape, with rain and brisk winds making for challenging outdoor conditions. Ahead of this front, much of central and eastern South Africa will experience warm to hot temperatures, mostly sunny skies, and gusty winds, creating a stark north-south contrast in weather. There are no impact-based warnings currently in place from the South African Weather Service, but fire danger remains high: very hot, dry, and windy conditions could lead to runaway veld and bush fires over large parts of Gauteng Province and Limpopo Province, as well as the Mpumalanga Highveld. Residents in the southern Namakwa, Cape Winelands, Central Karoo, and Little Karoo should also prepare for a spell of very cold, wet, and windy weather from tomorrow through Friday, as advisories remain in effect for these areas.

South Africa Weather for Today & Tomorrow Update
A second strong upper-air system, or cut-off low, is developing over Namibia and is poised to bring another round of severe weather to southern Africa this weekend. The South African Weather Service has issued a Yellow Level 2 warning for KwaZulu-Natal, where severe thunderstorms with heavy rainfall, hail, and frequent lightning could cause localised flooding and damage to infrastructure and homes. Additional Orange Level 5 warnings are in effect for the north-eastern Northern Cape and western Free State, where even more intense storms are likely. Yellow Level 2 alerts have also been issued for severe thunderstorms in the western Free State, extreme west of the North West, and central Northern Cape, while disruptive morning rain is anticipated along the KwaZulu-Natal coast. Damaging winds may affect much of the Northern Cape (except the southeast), along with the western and northern Western Cape and parts of the North West, raising the risk of power disruptions, hazardous driving, and structural damage. Residents are urged to stay informed and take precautions as these dynamic weather conditions unfold.
